I often use the command-N new text item as a scratchpad alongside other windows. I would find it really helpful to make the text editing window much smaller — right now the window takes up more than a quarter of my laptop screen’s width and a third of the screen’s height. I’d love to have it take up one-eighth or less! A great citizen in this regard is iA Writer, which lets you shrink the editor window down to a tiny little square. This little change would make the editing feature much more useful to me.
